Inspired by the work of Dr Seuss our Above and Beyond Education and Care Centre in Te Puna is a marvel of creativity, a place where children are free to be children. We have three unique areas specially designed with your child’s developmental age in mind. Each one carefully crafted to reflect our love for children and passion for early childhood education and childcare.
Our love and passion for early childhood flows from our environments through to our teaching. We maintain a high teacher to student ratio, well above the required standard. This means teachers have the time to teach and children, have a welcoming home-like place to feel safe and happy.
Born and raised in Tauranga, Leonie, our Educational Leader, has always had a passion for early childhood education and is a fully qualified teacher working with our 3 and 4 year olds at our Te Puna centre. In her spare time Leonie likes to play social badminton, go bike riding, swim and soak in the famous BOP sun. Above all else Leonie loves to see children progress, becoming a part of their unique learning journeys.
Ally, our lovely 3-5 year old teacher, has had 18 years experience in early childhood education. She draws from a wealth of professional experience as well as personal experience gained raising her 4 wonderful children. Ally has a genuine passion for children’s education and an unrivalled wealth of patience. As a family they love getting outdoors, camping, the bush and the beach spending quality time together with friends.
Alice always brings the fun to Above and Beyond Te Puna. Her warm smile and gentle nature makes her a favourite with both children and parents alike. Alice newly qualified spent time on her practicum in the centre and was too good to see leave so was offered a job once she had finished her studies.
